ELLSWORTH COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING

                                                                                 

MINUTES

 

April 11, 2016

 

The Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners convened this 11^th day of April 2016 at the Ellsworth County Courthouse. 

                                                                          

                                                                           Members Present:

                                                                           Albert W. Oller, 1^st District Commissioner

                                                                           Kermit Rush, 2^nd District Commissioner

                                                                           Terry L. Kueser, 3^rd District Commissioner

 

                                                                                                                                      

OPENING BUSINESS:

 

Chairman Rush called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the Agenda.   Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Oller moved to approve the Minutes of April 4, 2016.  Commissioner Kueser seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

OPEN FORUM:

No one was present for the Open Forum.

 

APPOINTMENTS:

 

Teresa Shute, Noxious Weed & Landfill Supervisor, wanted to save money on the Noxious Weed City water bill.  Teresa talked to the City of Ellsworth about putting in another meter solely used for filling up their sprayer and not paying the sewer costs for that water.  The City said it would cost around $5000.00 for the line alone and there would still be the cost for the water pit.  Teresa and Commissioners agreed that this expense was not worth putting in a second meter.  Commissioners suggested finding out what it would cost for filling up the weed sprayer at the City shop.  Teresa said she would check into the cost for high volume water.   

 

Robert Fillion, Economic Development Director, presented a letter from Subhash Patel to the Commissioners showing he had been interested in building a hotel in Ellsworth.  Mr. Patel had secured a loan with his investment partners' contingent upon the Neighborhood Revitalization Plan E being amended.  Commissioner Kueser had talked to Carl Miller, County Appraiser, and Commissioner Kueser feels that they need look in depth at more numbers on Plan E.

 

Ari Hunniford, Development Consultant, was hired by the Wilson Opera House Committee to sell the tax credits.  Ms. Hunniford wanted to inform Commissioners of the plan for the future with the amphitheater in Wilson and to invite them to the annual meeting on April 30, 2016.
