ELLSWORTH COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING

                                                                                 

MINUTES

 

January 25, 2016

 

The Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners convened this 25^th day of January 2016 at the Ellsworth County Courthouse. 

                                                            Members Present:

                                                            Albert W. Oller, 1^st District Commissioner

                                                            Kermit Rush, 2^nd District Commissioner

                                                            Terry L. Kueser, 3^rd District Commissioner

                                                                       

OPENING BUSINESS:

Chairman Rush called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the Agenda.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Oller moved to approve the Minutes of January 19, 2016.  Commissioner Kueser seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Oller moved to approve Abatements 2015 34 - 39, for a total of $957.30.  Commissioner Kueser seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioners tabled approving Special Alcohol request until more information is available.

 

No one was present for Open Forum.

 

Appointments:

At the request of Ronda Kasiska, Health Department Supervisor, Commissioner Kueser moved to go into executive session from 9:50 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., with County Clerk included. Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0. Commissioners returned to open session with no action taken.

 

Roger Masse, ECMC Administrator, presented his Report showing that he had a local student interested in entering an agreement with ECMC to provide a loan during his Medical School and residency program. Mr. Masse talked about moving forward with ECMC trying to pursue affiliating with another hospital group or not, since the end of agreement with Salina Regional on January 12, 2015. He also went over his financial report and spoke of how ECMC had ended their contract with Wal-Mart pharmacies because it was very costly. They were looking into a profitability analysis with the Ellsworth Wal-Mart location only, when the Ellsworth Wal-Mart announced of its closing.

 

Rod Rees, EMS Director, informed the Commissioners the new ambulance would be here Thursday, January 28^th. At the request of Mr. Rees, Commissioner Kueser moved to go into executive session from 11:11 to 11:30, to discuss nonelected personnel. Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.  Commissioners returned to open session with no action taken.

 

ADJOURNMENT:

Chairman Rush adjourned the meeting at 11:30 a.m.
