ELLSWORTH COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING

                                                                                 

MINUTES

 

January 4, 2016

 

The Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners convened this 4^th day of January 2016 at the Ellsworth County Courthouse. 

                                                            Members Present:

                                                            Albert W. Oller, 1^st District Commissioner

                                                            Kermit Rush, 2^nd District Commissioner

                                                            Terry L. Kueser, 3^rd District Commissioner

                                                                       

OPENING BUSINESS:

Chairman Oller called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the Agenda.  Commissioner Kueser seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the Minutes of December 28, 2015 with a correction.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

APPOINTMENTS & ELECTION OF OFFICERS FOR 2016:

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to appoint Kermit Rush as Chairman and Albert Oller as Vice Chairman for 2015.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved and Commissioner Oller seconded the motion to approve the following appointments for 2016:

Chairman Rush chaired the remaining meeting.    

Commissioner Oller made a motion to appoint Judy Scritchfield to the Board of Directors for the North Central-Flint Hills Agency on Aging, Inc. Commissioner Kueser seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve December Accounts Payable, $266,357.34 plus Prewritten Warrants, $14,641.63 for a total of $280,998.97.

 

Commissioner Oller moved to approve December Payroll for $249,534.93.  Commissioner Kueser seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

No one was in attendance for the public forum.

 

Appointments:

Rod Rees, EMS Director, brought in a bid on a Stryker Power Pro cot for $13,927.00.  The Commissioners asked Rod to get a second bid before they made their decision.  Rod asked permission to apply for a grant that would pay for 90% of two Chest Compression Systems.  Commissioner Kueser made a motion to allow Rod to apply for grant.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Teresa Shute, Noxious Weed and Landfill Supervisor, brought in the sealed bids for the 1991 Chevrolet Pickup and 1989 Ford Aerostar Van. Commissioner Oller made a motion to accept the bid on the 1991 Chevy for $1,275.00 and the 1989 Ford for $275.00 both from CV Trucking Services.  Commissioner Kueser seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Ronda Kasiska, Health Department Supervisor, let the Commissioners know that Lenora Henderson's computer stopped working, and it was a WIC computer.  WIC had a computer in storage so they are sending it to them for no cost.  Ronda informed Commissioners that Cindy Lamia is going to retire in June, so she wanted to know if she could hire someone ahead of time so Cindy could train the new RN.  The Commissioners told her to start looking in April so the new RN could have a month to train.
