ELLSWORTH COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING

                                                                                 

MINUTES

 

January 19, 2016

 

The Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners convened this 19^th day of January 2016 at the Ellsworth County Courthouse. 

                                                            Members Present:

                                                            Albert W. Oller, 1^st District Commissioner

                                                            Kermit Rush, 2^nd District Commissioner

                                                            Terry L. Kueser, 3^rd District Commissioner

                                                                       

OPENING BUSINESS:

Chairman Rush called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the Agenda with an addition.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the Minutes of January 11, 2016.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Oller moved to approve Abatements 2015 29 - 32, for a total of $662.16.  Commissioner Kueser seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Oller moved to approve Resolution 16R-01.  Commissioner Kueser seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioners tabled approving Special Alcohol request until next Commission Meeting.

 

No one was present for Open Forum.

 

Appointments:

Carl Miller, Ellsworth County Appraiser, asked if the Commissioners had seen the letter from David Criswell regarding some property that he knew had delinquent taxes.  The Commissioners had received a copy and said they did not want the 2 pieces of property in their possession.  Carl asked if the Courthouse had an office available for Smoky Hill Development Office to have privacy.  The Commissioners said they were willing to accommodate the Smoky Hill Development Office.  

 

Michelle Brokes, Paul Kasper, Sarah Dlabal, Sharla Huseman, Seth Rolfs, Travis Janssen, Leslie Brooks and Diane O'Conner, Ellsworth County Fair Association, wanted to clear up how the money was going to be distributed to the Fair Association.  Commissioner Kueser said that he wants them to bring in the invoices or bills to Clerk's Office and report to the Commissioner Board for approval the first year the Fund is being established.  The first distribution to the Fair Association of $4,000.00, will cover small items such as toiletries.  The other $7,000.00 will need to be approved per voucher every month.

 

Keith Haberer, Ellsworth County Emergency Manager, asked if he had the Commissioners approval to be gone the week of April 18 -22 to go to the Annual KEMA Conference in Washington D.C.  KEMA reimburses all the expenses to attend.  The Commissioners said he had their permission to be gone that week.
