ELLSWORTH COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING

                                                                                 

MINUTES

 

November 30, 2015

 

The Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners convened this 30^th day of November 2015 at the Ellsworth County Courthouse. 

                                                            Members Present:

                                                            Albert W. Oller, 1^st District Commissioner

                                                            Kermit Rush, 2^nd District Commissioner

                                                            Terry L. Kueser, 3^rd District Commissioner

                                                                       

OPENING BUSINESS:

Chairman Oller called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the Agenda with a change.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the Minutes of November 23, 2015.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve Abatement 2015 #9 for $3,375.90.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve Added Tax 2015 #2 for $498.08.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve November Payroll in the amount of $222,491.53.  Commissioner Kueser seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Stephen Sheldon, Dianne Sheldon and Keith Bruning brought in an email from attorney John Sherman concerning the purchase of land between their families and the sanitation code in real estate transactions.  The house on the property was going to be torn down so the Sheldons did not want to fix a septic tank.  Shawn Estrel explained that in this situation that he would act as a consultant and he just wants to inform and educate the public.

 

Appointments:

Carl Miller, Ellsworth County Appraiser, and Roberta Waymaster, Road & Bridge Secretary, asked the Commissioners to consider giving the County Employees all day of Christmas Eve as a holiday instead of only a half a day.  The Commissioners expressed their concern of this not becoming the precedence for Holidays, but otherwise okay with the idea.  Commissioner Rush made a motion to make all day Christmas Eve a holiday.  Commissioner Kueser seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Shawn Esterl, Environmental Services, wanted the Commissioners to know that Scott Rolfs might be contacting them because he is upset that he is selling property and does not want to have to pump out the septic system that is only 9 years old.  Mr. Esterl reintegrated that he wants to educate and inform the public so that the water quality is safe, and per Ellsworth Counties Sanitation Code he must require him to pump out his septic system.
