ELLSWORTH COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING

                                                                                 

MINUTES

 

December 14, 2015

 

The Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners convened this 14^th day of December 2015 at the Ellsworth County Courthouse. 

                                                            Members Present:

                                                            Albert W. Oller, 1^st District Commissioner

                                                            Kermit Rush, 2^nd District Commissioner

                                                            Terry L. Kueser, 3^rd District Commissioner

                                                                       

OPENING BUSINESS:

Chairman Oller called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the Agenda.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the Minutes of December 7, 2015.  Commissioner Kueser seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve Resolution No. 2015-R-17.  Commissioner Kueser seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve Cereal Malt Beverage Licenses for D & S Convenience Stop and D & S Oil Company.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve Doubrava Woodworking Inc.'s bid of $2750.00 for step and sidewalk repair on backside of Courthouse.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the 2016 KAC Membership Dues.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

No one was in attendance for open forum.

 

Appointments:

Rod Rees, Ellsworth County EMS Director, let the Commissioners know that the insurance adjuster totaled the vehicle and valued it at $115,000.  There will be a $500.00 deductible, so the check will be for $114,500.  Commissioner Oller made a motion to get Ambulance for $169,000.  Commissioner Kueser seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.  The Commissioners want Joe Shepack, County Attorney, to look at check when we receive it and look over the accident report from Kansas Highway Patrol.  At the request of Rod Rees, Commissioner Kueser made a motion to go into executive session to discuss non-elected personnel from 9:20a.m. to 9:30a.m and asked County Clerk to attend.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion.   Commissioners returned to session at 9:30 with no action taken. 

 

Geneva Schneider, Ellsworth County Treasurer, brought in paper work from Citizens State Bank & Trust for Commissioners to sign so she could authorize Mindy Lemieux to sign checks for the County.

 

Rick Nondorf, Road & Bridge Supervisor, brought in a contract to be signed by Chairman, Albert W. Oller, for the bridge L& M Contractors are starting for the County in February and will complete no later than April 4, 2016.  Rick let the Commissioners know that a bridge that was torn down was a historical bridge and he's not sure what the National Historical Society is going to do about it.

 

ADJOURNMENT:
