ELLSWORTH COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING

                                                                                 

MINUTES

 

September 21, 2015

 

The Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners convened this 21^st day of September 2015 at the Ellsworth County Courthouse. 

                                                            Members Present:

                                                            Albert W. Oller, 1^st District Commissioner

                                                            Kermit Rush, 2^nd District Commissioner

                                                            Terry L. Kueser, 3^rd District Commissioner

                                                                       

OPENING BUSINESS:

 

Chairman Oller called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the Agenda.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the Minutes of September 14, 2015.  Commissioner Kueser seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Rev. Billy Kryger was in attendance but did not wish to address the Commissioners.

 

Associates from Kirkham Michael & Associates personally invited the Commissioners to attend their Open House celebrating 25 years in Ellsworth.

 

APPOINTMENTS:

 

Teresa Shute, Noxious Weed-Landfill Supervisor, planned to report the purchase of a van from Federal Surplus, however, another agency already had a hold on it. She has a second hold just in case the other agency does not approve the purchase.  The 2015 GMC pickup ordered in July should be delivered this week.

 

Rod Rees, EMS Director, presented write-offs for approval.  Commissioner Kueser moved to approve write-offs in the amount of $6,296.26.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.  All ambulances are in service, however the siren on one of them needs to be repaired. 

 

Rick Nondorf, Road & Bridge Supervisor, presented a contract with Kirkham Michael & Associates for mandatory bridge inspections for the county.  There are 201 bridges and the bid is $20,100.  Bridges that are designated critical and fractured will be done under a separate contract and cost.  Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the contract with Kirkham Michael & Associates for bridge inspection.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.  Mr. Nondorf reported he had received the new salt truck from the state and he has had a request from USD #327 for the old one. In agreement with policy, the Commissioners agreed with Mr. Nondorf to donate the truck to the school district.  The new fuel tank being installed is still not completed.
