ELLSWORTH COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING

                                                                                 

MINUTES

 

October 5, 2015

 

The Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners convened this 5th day of October 2015 at the Ellsworth County Courthouse. 

                                                            Members Present:

                                                            Albert W. Oller, 1^st District Commissioner

                                                            Kermit Rush, 2^nd District Commissioner

                                                            Terry L. Kueser, 3^rd District Commissioner

 

                                                                       

OPENING BUSINESS:

 

Chairman Oller called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the Agenda. Commissioner Kueser seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the Minutes of September 28, 2015. Commissioner Rush seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve September's accounts payable, $175,578.84 plus prewritten warrants, $48,137.91 for a total of $223,716.75. Commissioner Kueser seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve September's payroll in the amount of $213,877.77. Commissioner Rush seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the contract with Lindborg Vogel Pierce Faris, Chartered to have them audit Ellsworth County, Kansas for years 2015, 2016 and 2017. Commissioner Rush seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0.

 

Dale Brungardt, Ellsworth USD 327 Superintendent, was at the Commissioner's meeting to listen.  Commissioner Rush asked if he would comment on the School's tennis courts. Mr. Brungardt told the Commissioners that everything looks good, but it is important that the tennis courts are being done correct. The School board decided to hire an outside company to come in and do their own testing.

 

 

APPOINTMENTS:

 

Jamie Rathbun and Michelle Buchanan, Midway Extension District, came in to give an update on the last quarter. Jamie has been doing workshops on Medicare and will start scheduling appointments for individuals starting October 15, 2015. Michelle Buchanan talked about the wheat and agriculture around the area.

 

Teresa Shute, Noxious Weed Supervisor, let the Commissioners know that she bought the 2008 Chevrolet Van from Cliff Ostrom.
