ELLSWORTH COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING

                                                                                 

MINUTES

 

August 3, 2015

 

The Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners convened this 3^rd day of August 2015 at the Ellsworth County Courthouse. 

                                                            Members Present:

                                                            Albert W. Oller, 1^st District Commissioner

                                                            Kermit Rush, 2^nd District Commissioner

                                                            Terry L. Kueser, 3^rd District Commissioner

                                                                       

OPENING BUSINESS:

 

Chairman Oller called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the Agenda with additions.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the Minutes of July 27, 2015.  Commissioner Kueser seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the July Accounts Payable of $336,295.29 and Prewritten Warrants of $78,512.72 for a total of $414,808.01. Chairman Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 2-0.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the July Payroll in the amount of $210,042.97. Chairman Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 2-0.

 

APPOINTMENTS:

 

Randy Hoffmeier, CPA with Lindburg Vogel Pierce Faris accompanied by Jeffrey Reece, a shareholder, reviewed the proposed 2016 budget.  Mr. Hoffmeier expressed his only concern with trying to hold the mill levy the same is that the state has passed a tax lid for 2018 and that's when one of our Wind Power payments are scheduled to end.  Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the 2016 budget as presented for publication.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0.

 

Michelle Brokes, Lindsey Huseman, Travis Janssen, Delane Janssen, Sharla Huseman, Allan Brokes and Sarah Dlabal of the County Fair Board along with their attorney Paul Kasper of Peterson & Kasper Law Office and Volunteer Leslie Brooks, of the 4-H Fair, wanted to come in and answer any questions the Commissioners had for the Board.  County Attorney Joe Shepack came in and better explained the laws in regards for the County Fair Association.  Commissioners ask how they elected their board and members.  Commissioner Rush left at 9:30 a.m. to attend a funeral.  The Commissioners expressed their intentions to appoint them as the official County Fair.  The Commissioners asked them to refigure their minimum budget and they may be able to help the Fair Board with a lower budget than originally presented.

Chairman Oller adjourned the meeting at 10:30 p.m.
