ELLSWORTH COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING

                                                                                 

MINUTES

 

July 6, 2015

 

The Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners convened this 6^th of July 2015 at the Ellsworth County Courthouse. 

                                                            Members Present:

                                                            Albert W. Oller, 1^st District Commissioner

                                                            Kermit Rush, 2^nd District Commissioner

                                                            Terry L. Kueser, 3^rd District Commissioner

                                                                       

OPENING BUSINESS:

 

Chairman Oller called the meeting to order at 9:00 am.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the Agenda with an addition.  Commissioner Kueser seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the Minutes of June 29, 2015.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

 

APPOINTMENTS:

 

Cherie Sauers, Phylis Dolezal and Janie Essick representing Ellsworth County Historical Society, presented their budget request for 2016 of $34,000.00 same as this years 2015 Budget.  They thanked the commissioners for their support.

 

Pam Pelzel from St. Bernards and St. Ignatious Catholic Church, have kids from Salina Diocese doing yard work, painting and etc. for people in the County who are unable to do this work themselves.  She wanted to know if the county would waive the dump fee since this is volunteer work.  The Commissioners want to know what items they want to dump first before they will make any decision.  Pam said she would get a list and call the County Clerk's Office.

 

Geneva Schneider, Ellsworth County Treasurer, presented her budget of $131,500.00 an increase of $3,315.00 or 2.59%.  At the request of Geneva Schneider, Commissioner Kueser motioned to go into executive session from 9:50 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. to discuss non-elected personnel and asked for County Clerk to attend.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion. The Commissioners opened session back at 10:00 a.m. and Commissioner Kueser moved to approve a raise of $.25 hour for the Deputy Treasurer, Shelby Soukup.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0.

 

 

Ronda Kasiska, Ellsworth County Health Department Supervisor, presented her budget of $335,851.00 and increase of $23,959.00 or 7.68%.  Ronda also presented quotes for a new server. The Commissioners wanted to know what a monthly contract would cost.  She will come back with the information on the monthly contract amount.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

 

Sheriff's request for extension of jail.

 

Ellsworth County Clerk, Shelly Vopat, appointed Julie Neuman as Deputy Clerk.

 

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve Resolution 2015-R-13. Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

 

ADJOURNMENT:
