ELLSWORTH COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING

                                                                                 

MINUTES

 

JULY 13, 2015

 

The Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners convened this 13th day of July 2015 at the Ellsworth County Courthouse. 

                                                            Members Present:

                                                            Albert W. Oller, 1^st District Commissioner

                                                            Kermit Rush, 2^nd District Commissioner

                                                            Terry L. Kueser, 3^rd District Commissioner

                                                                       

OPENING BUSINESS:

 

Chairman Oller called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the Agenda.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the Minutes of July 6, 2015.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

APPOINTMENTS:

 

Rod Rees, EMS Director, presented his budget of $499,813.00 an increase of $26,524.00 or 5.6%.

 

Teresa Shute, Noxious Weed Supervisor, presented her two quotes on a new truck to use for spraying and back up for Recycling.  She and the Commissioners felt the 2015 GMC from Doonan GMC, Great Bend was best suited for both Department's needs.

 

Tracy Ploutz, Ellsworth County Sheriff, dropped in between meetings and told the Commissioners he was purchasing a 2015 Ford F150 to replace his 2006.

 

Shelly Vopat, Ellsworth County Clerk, presented her budget for the Election of $66,625.00 an increase of $33,575.00 or 98.4%.  She said the large increase is due to the 2016 Presidential election and the state is no longer contributing HAVA money to help fund some expenses.  Then she presented the 2016 Clerk's budget of $95,338.00 a decrease of $4,677.00 or 4.68%. 

 

Theresa Richards representing the Ellsworth Senior Center, presented the budget of $27,500.00 an increase of $3000.00 or 1.12%.  Members present were Leonard Haverkamp, Jon Mehler, Thomasa Cisneros, Roger McCaulley, Earl Johnson and Marilyn Huslig. 

 

Ronda Kasiska, Ellsworth County Health Department Supervisor, let the Commissioners know that the contract with USD #112 for nursing in Wilson will be submitted as $11,144.00 to cover the expenses for 2 days a week.  Commissioner Kueser motioned to approve the contract of $11,144.00 with USD #112 to cover expense for Wilson Schools.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0.  She also had the figures for the monthly contract, the Commissioners requested last week for the server.  Still, no decision was made until they receive more information on the servers cost.

 

Representing Wilson Senior Center, Joyce Langhofer, presented their budget of $27,000.00 an increase of $8,000.00 or 42.10%.
