ELLSWORTH COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING

                                                                                 

MINUTES

 

MARCH 9, 2015

 

The Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners convened this 9^th day of March 2015 at the Ellsworth County Courthouse. 

                                                            Members Present:

                                                            Albert W. Oller, 1^st District Commissioner

                                                            Kermit Rush, 2^nd District Commissioner

                                                            Terry L. Kueser, 3^rd District Commissioner

                                                                       

OPENING BUSINESS:

 

Chairman Oller called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the Agenda as corrected.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the Minutes of March 2, 2015 with a correction.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

No one was present for the Open Forum.

 

APPOINTMENTS:

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to go into executive session to discuss non-elected personnel with Terry David, Rice County EMS Director, from 9:05 a.m. until 9:35 a.m.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.  The Commissioners returned to open session at 9:35 a.m. and Commissioner Kueser moved to return to executive session to discuss non-elected personnel with Mr. David from 9:35 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.  The Commissioners returned to open session at 10:00 a.m. and no action was taken.

 

Kayla Gourley, Noxious Weed/Landfill Secretary, requested the Commissioner to sign the annual Noxious Weed report and they did so.

 

Rick Nondorf, Road & Bridge Supervisor, reported he had gotten a bid from Double Check for a new underground fuel tank installed and it was $79,072.  There were some questions on the bid, so Mr. Nondorf was going to speak with the company and will come back to the Commissioners next week with the information they were requesting.  The spring NCKCHOA meeting will be held in Salina on April 2^nd and Commissioner Rush and Mr. Nondorf will be attending.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

The Commissioners discussed conversations they had with fire chiefs and they have requested a burn ban.  Therefore, Commissioner Kueser moved to approve Resolution 2015R07, State of Disaster Emergency Proclamation (Burn Ban).  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve Abatement #339 for $2,434.18 and Adds #340-#347 in the amount of $2,434.36.  Commissioner Kueser seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

ADJOURNMENT:

 

Chairman Oller adjourned the meeting at 11:30 a.m.
