ELLSWORTH COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING

                                                                                 

MINUTES

 

December 1, 2014

 

The Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners convened this 1st day of December 2014 at the Ellsworth County Courthouse. 

 

                                                            Members Present:

                                                            Albert W. Oller, 1^st District Commissioner

                                                            Kermit Rush, 2^nd District Commissioner

                                                            Terry L. Kueser, 3^rd District Commissioner

 

 

 

                                                                                                           

OPENING BUSINESS:

 

Chairman Kueser called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the Agenda with one change to move Rick Nondorf from 10:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m.   Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the Added Tax, 2014, 298 in the amount of $258.62.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the abatement, 2014, 294-297, 299, 300 & 301 in the amount of $885.86.

 

No one was present for the open Public Forum.

 

APPOINTMENTS:

 

Rick Nondorf , Road & Bridge Supervisor, wanted to talk to the Commissioners about a couple of employees that come in consistently late and he felt they were doing it deliberately.  He has given verbal warnings but they discussed that he should give them a written warning listing what would happen if they were late again.  He also said that with a couple of employees he was having problems with cellular phone usage.  He said that he is was okay with them having cellular phones for emergencies but he was going to tell them that if they are going to have their cell phones on them, they needed to leave them off if there was no emergency.  Then he wanted to know if he could trade in a 2003 Sterling and purchase a 2015 Kenworth Dump truck with a bed for $108,000.00.  He also requested and received approval to extend a new employee's probationary period for another 90 days.

 

Jamie Rathbun, Extension Family and Consumer Sciences Agent, introduced Dusty Betts, Michelle Buchanan and Nicolette Unruh to the Commissioners.  They discussed the fair and making a fair board to promote a better fair and get more public involvement for the fair.

 

Ronda Kasiska, Health Department Supervisior, wanted to know if she could have the Health Advisory Board next Monday, December the 8^th at Noon at the Health Department.  The Commissioners agreed that would work for them. The toilets at the Health Department are leaking and they are not working well.  She had a plumber fix them but was informed that they will need replaced soon.  The Commissioners told Ronda to get bids for the project.
