ELLSWORTH COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING

                                                                                 

MINUTES

 

AUGUST 25, 2014

 

The Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners convened this 25^th day of August 2014 at the Ellsworth County Courthouse. 

                                                            Members Present:

                                                            Albert W. Oller, 1^st District Commissioner

                                                            Kermit Rush, 2^nd District Commissioner

                                                            Terry L. Kueser, 3^rd District Commissioner

                                                                       

OPENING BUSINESS:

 

Chairman Kueser called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the Agenda.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Oller moved to approve the Minutes of August 18, 2014.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

APPOINTMENTS:

 

Roger Masse, ECMC Administrator, gave his monthly report.  The financials were good for the first month of the fiscal year.  The average time for a successful recruitment of a physician is three years.  They are starting the process again.  The hospital facility is aging and some maintenance and upkeep issues will need to be addressed.  However, at this time no additions are being contemplated.  They are still working with Salina Regional and Great Plains on the management contract with Salina Regional.  Central Kansas Mental Health will start their service in early September.  In telemedicine they are looking at adding dietician services, oncology and dermatology.  Two board members will be going off in 2015 and cannot be reappointed. 

 

Keith Haberer, Emergency Management Director, reported that the exercise on August 6^th  went well.  He attended the Russell one and Roy Folk sat in for him at the one in Ellsworth.  There will be a critique of the exercise and they will have an improvement plan to review.  The state did give credit for the exercise.  At the LEPC meeting this Thursday Ben Gardener from the State Highway Patrol will be doing an active shooter presentation.   Ellsworth County will receive their EMPG money of 9,337 from the state.   

 

Brian Meder, Nex-Tech representative, reviewed the many plans they offer for IT services. 

 

Amy Boxberger, Central Kansas Community Corrections, presented her two plans for approval.  Commissioner Rush moved to approve the 2014 Year-end Outcomes Report.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.  Commissioner Rush moved to approve the 2015 Carryover Reimbursement Budget Summary as presented.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

Commissioner Oller moved to approve Abatements 54, 55 & 56 in the amount of $484.70.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

ADJOURNMENT:

 

Commissioner Kueser adjourned the meeting at 11:30 p.m.
