ELLSWORTH COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING

                                                                                 

MINUTES

 

JUNE 23, 2014

 

The Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners convened this 23^rd day of June 2014 at the Ellsworth County Courthouse. 

                                                            Members Present:

                                                            Albert W. Oller, 1^st District Commissioner

                                                            Terry L. Kueser, 3^rd District Commissioner

                                                                       

OPENING BUSINESS:

 

Chairman Kueser called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

 

Commissioner Oller moved to approve the Agenda.  Commissioner Kueser seconded the motion.  Motion carried 2-0.

 

Commissioner Oller moved to approve the Minutes of June 16, 2014.  Commissioner Kueser seconded the motion.  Motion carried 2-0.

 

Rev. Billy Kryger was in attendance but did not wish to address the Commissioners.

 

APPOINTMENTS:

 

Shelia Nelson-Stout and additional staff  representing OCCK, presented their budget request for 2015 in the amount of $66,799, the same as last year.  OCCK has made a commitment to broaden services over the last year to begin home health and chore service to seniors and people with disabilities to stay at home in their communities. 

 

Roderic Rees, EMS Director, presented write-offs for approval in the amount of $3,367.50.  Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the write-offs as presented.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 2-0.  The 2015 budget was presented with a request of $478,046, an increase of $18,131. 

 

Upon the request of Sheriff Tracy Ploutz, Commissioner Kueser moved to go into executive session from 10:36 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. to discuss non-elected personnel.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.  The Commissioners returned to open session at 10:50 a.m. and no action was taken.  Sheriff Ploutz reported they had started work on the safety cell.

 

Rick Nondorf, Road & Bridge Supervisor, brought the Commissioners up-to-date on their activities.  He is replacing the old sign truck and truck bed.

 

Commissioner Kueser reported that he had been by the 4-H Barn as requested by the Extension Department to inspect what appeared to be some water erosion around the concrete from the last heavy wind and rain storm.  He will check with the Extension to see if it could be a project for the 4-H clubs.

 

 

Chairman Kueser adjourned the meeting at 12:00 Noon.
