ELLSWORTH COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING

                                                                                 

MINUTES

 

JULY 14, 2014

 

The Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners convened this 14^th day of July 2014 at the Ellsworth County Courthouse. 

                                                            Members Present:

                                                            Albert W. Oller, 1^st District Commissioner

                                                            Kermit Rush, 2^nd District Commissioner

                                                            Terry L. Kueser, 3^rd District Commissioner

                                                                       

OPENING BUSINESS:

 

Chairman Kueser called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the Agenda with a deletion.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the Minutes of July 7, 2014.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Rev. Billy Kryger was in attendance but did not want to address the Commissioners.

 

APPOINTMENTS:

 

Ronda Kasiska, Health Supervisor, presented the USD #112 School Nursing contract in the amount of $10,600.  The Commissioners signed the contract.

 

Leigh Ann Montoy, Shawn Esterl and Kevin Urban, representing the Saline Health Department, presented the quarterly report for activities in Ellsworth County.  Mrs. Montoy gave the Commissioners the proposed contract for 2015 & 2016.  The amount requested is $12,000 for 2015 and $12,500 for 2016.  Commissioner Rush moved to accept the contract from the Saline County Health Department for services for 2015-2016.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.  The new sanitary code is at KDHE awaiting their approval.

 

Cherie Sauers, Kathryn Kohls and Phyllis Dolezal, representing the Ellsworth County Historical Society, requested $34,000, the same as this year, for their 2015 budget.  The Commissioners thank them for holding the line and  they would try to accommodate their request.

 

The Commissioner talked with Rick Nondorf, Road & Bridge Supervisor, via the telephone, about the leakage in the diesel fuel tank.  Mr. Nondorf reported that a pressure test was done last week on the lines and tanks and they both passed the test.  He moved some fuel back into the tank to see what would happen and again he lost fuel.  He is working with KDHE and vendor, Double Check, to see what the next step would be.

 

Chairman Kueser recessed the meeting at 11:30 a.m.  At 1:30 p.m. Chairman Kueser called the meeting to order for a budget worksession. 

 

The Commissioners asked the County Clerk to forward some budget information to the auditors for calculation.

 

ADJOURNMENT:

 

Chairman Kueser adjourned the meeting at 3:30 p.m.
