ELLSWORTH COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING

                                                                                 

MINUTES

 

MAY 19, 2014

 

The Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners convened this 19^th day of May, 2014 at the Ellsworth County Courthouse. 

                                                            Members Present:

                                                            Albert W. Oller, 1^st District Commissioner

                                                            Kermit Rush, 2^nd District Commissioner

                                                            Terry L. Kueser, 3^rd District Commissioner

                                                                       

OPENING BUSINESS:

 

Chairman Kueser called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the Agenda with additions.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the Minutes of May 12, 2014.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Rev. Billy Kryger was in attendance but did not want to address the Commissioners.

 

APPOINTMENTS:

 

Carl Miller, Ellsworth County Appraiser, informed the Commissioners that he would be certifying 2014 values to the County Clerk on June 2.  The hearing process is completed and he will start reviewing another 17% of the county which will include Carneiro, Carneiro Township, Columbia Township, Green Garden Township, Ash Creek Township and the City of Holyrood.  He will be in class June 16-20.  Stafford County purchased a new laptop and car desk and he has installed MyFi at a cost of $600 per year.  He asked if Ellsworth County would share the cost of the MyFi for $300 per year.  The Commissioners agreed.

 

Joseph Hurla, 360 Energy Engineers, visited with the Commissioners about any upgrades that they might be doing to the Courthouse in the near future.  His company would come in and do a review of the facilities and suggest upgrades to the heating and cooling, lighting and etc.  The Commissioners replied that they had just finished putting new windows in the Courthouse but would consider his invitation.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

 

Commissioner Rush moved to remove the Burn Ban but cautioned that a burn policy was always in effect.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve Payment Request #1 to Harbin Construction, LLC for $18,775.35 for the Safety Cell at the Law Enforcement Center.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

ADJOURNMENT:

 

Chairman Kueser adjourned the meeting at 11:05 a.m.
