ELLSWORTH COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING

                                                                                 

MINUTES

 

December 16, 2013

 

The Ellsworth County Commissioners attended an informational meeting on the Salina-Saline County Health Department changes and implications on the LEPP program at Lincoln County at 9:00 a.m.  At 12:00 Noon they attended a Health Advisory Board Meeting at the Ellsworth County Health Department.  All three Commissioners were in attendance at the above mentioned meetings.

 

The Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners convened in session this 16^th day of December 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Ellsworth County Courthouse.

                                                            Kermit Rush, 2^nd District Commissioner

                                                            Terry L. Kueser, 3^rd District Commissioner

                                                                                   

OPENING BUSINESS:

 

Chairman Rush called the meeting to order.  Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the Agenda as presented.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion.  Motion carried 2-0.

 

Commission Rush moved to approve the minutes of December 9, 2013 with a correction.  Commissioner Kueser seconded the motion.  Motion carried 2-0.

 

APPOINTMENTS:

 

Roderic Rees, EMS Director, presented write-offs in the amount of $1,661.60 for consideration.  Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the write-off as presented in the amount of $1,661.60.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion.  Motion carried 2-0. Mr. Rees reported that he had filed a complaint with the State Insurance office regarding the payments from United Health Care.  He believes they may be able to straighten out the problem with the payment going to the wrong department.  Hopefully, it will be settled by the end of the year.  Before salaries are considered for the first of the year, the Commissioners asked Mr. Rees to check with other counties in regards to salary and working schedules.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve Abatements 6, 10, 11, 12 & 13 in the amount of $2,596.34 and Added Tax 9 for $1,934.54.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion and motion carried 2-0.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the resignation of Sally Voeltz as Clerk of Clear Creek Township.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve cereal malt beverage licenses to the following applicants:  D&S Oil Company, D&S Convenience Shop and Service Oil Company.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion.  Motion carried 2-0.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve a donation to USD #327 and USD #112 After Prom events in the amount of $100 each.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion.  Motion carried 2-0.

 

The approval of the contract with Saline County Health Department was tabled until 2014.

 

ADJOURNMENT:

 

Chairman Rush adjourned the meeting at 2:30 p.m.
