ELLSWORTH COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING

                                                                                 

MINUTES

 

AUGUST 19, 2013

 

The Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners convened this 19^th day of August at the Ellsworth County Courthouse. 

                                                            Members Present:

                                                            Albert W. Oller, 1^st District Commissioner

                                                            Kermit Rush, 2^nd District Commissioner

                                                            Terry L. Kueser, 3^rd District Commissioner

                                                                                               

OPENING BUSINESS:

 

Chairman Rush called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the Agenda with a correction.   Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Oller moved to approve the Minutes of August 12, 2013.  Commissioner Kueser seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

No one was present for the Public Forum.

 

APPOINTMENTS:

 

Kristy Turner, Holyrood, questioned the Commissioners why an ambulance that was dispatched to their home due to an accident was not property stocked with medications and the delay in time from the dispatcher to arriving at the residence.  The Commissioners had checked the situation out with the EMS Director and steps had been taken to see that it does not happen again.  Due to the summer heat, drugs are not stored on the ambulances but in the EMS office.  Refrigerated coolers have been ordered for all ambulances to remedy that situation.  The response time was due to the fact that the first-out ambulance was on a run and the second-out ambulance is manned by volunteers, which meant additional time was needed to get the second crew.

 

Peggy Svaty, USD #327 School Board Member, thanked the Commissioners for their donation to the new security system for the district.

 

At 10:00 a.m., Chairman Rush called the 2014 Budget Hearing to order.  No one was in attendance at the hearing.  Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the 2014 Budget as printed.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

 

There were no old business items.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

There were no new business items.

 

ADJOURNMENT:

 

Chairman Rush adjourned the meeting at 11:00 a.m.
