ELLSWORTH COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING

                                                                                 

MINUTES

 

May 13, 2013

 

The Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners convened this 13^th day of May at the Ellsworth County Courthouse. 

 

                                                            Members Present:

                                                            Albert W. Oller, 1^st District Commissioner

                                                            Kermit Rush, 2^nd District Commissioner

                                                            Terry L. Kueser, 3^rd District Commissioner

                                   

                                                                                                           

OPENING BUSINESS:

 

Chairman Rush called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the Agenda. Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the Minutes of May 6, 2013.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

APPOINTMENTS:

 

Carl Miller, Appraiser, reported that he would start his 17% inspections and they would cover the following townships:  Garfield, Wilson, Noble, Clear Creek, West Empire Lincoln and Lorraine City.  With the 17% each year, it takes six years to cover the entire county.  He has received a quote from Computer Solutions for a new computer and monitor for $1,668.44.  It will replace one they received form the state that is over six years old.  The old computer will be saved for a backup.  Commissioner Kueser moved to approve Resolution 13R03, A Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners Appointing Carl Miller as County Appraiser of Ellsworth County, Kansas For A Term of Four Years.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

 

The Commissioner worked on the position/salary schedule.  It will be presented next week for final approval.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

The Commissioner discussed a request from a township grader operator to waive the landfill fee on trash he had picked up on the roadside when grading a road.  The request was tabled as the Commissioners felt they needed to hear from the township officers regarding this matter.
