ELLSWORTH COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING

                                                                                 

MINUTES

 

FEBRUARY 19, 2013

 

The Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners convened this 19^th day of February at the Ellsworth County Courthouse. 

 

                                                            Members Present:

                                                            Albert W. Oller, 1^st District Commissioner

                                                            Kermit Rush, 2^nd District Commissioner

                                                            Terry L. Kueser, 3^rd District Commissioner

                                   

                                                                                                           

OPENING BUSINESS:

 

Chairman Rush called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the Agenda with an addition.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the Minutes of February 11, 2013.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

No one was present for the Public Forum.

 

APPOINTMENTS:

 

Carl Miller, Appraiser, reported he had attended a Wilson City Council meeting regarding the grain elevators owned by Kanza Development.  The property tax is delinquent and the railroad would like to have the property back.  He is going to abate the delinquent tax so the property can be cleared and the railroad will pay taxes on them through state assessment.  Mr. Miller plans on attending the hearing on the HB 2285 on Thursday.  This is the bill that would reclassify fixtures on property such as Oneok.

 

Commissioner Kueser left the meeting at 10:00 a.m.

 

Fred Abercrombie and David Vance, Architects, and Ralph Doubrava, Contractor, met with the Commissioners and Courthouse departments to discuss the window replacement time schedules, requirement of the individual offices for moving equipment and replacement of blinds and air-conditioners.  The schedule for replacement of the windows will be given to the County Clerk so she can give ample warning to the offices where the window will be replaced.  The south side of the Courthouse will be replaced first.  Mr. Doubrava will be repairing the framework around the windows and will be working on the same schedule as the replacements.  Due to the curing of the material used on the frame of the windows, the window frames will not be painted until a later time.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

 

There were no old business items.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve Abatements 58 & 60 in the amount of $330.52.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Rush will be attending the NCKCHOA meeting on April 3, 2013.

 

 

ADJOURNMENT:

 

Chairman Rush adjourned the meeting at 11:55 a.m.
