ELLSWORTH COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING

                                                                                 

MINUTES

 

OCTOBER 1, 2012

 

The Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners convened this 1^st day of October at the Ellsworth County Courthouse. 

 

                                                            Members Present:

                                                            Albert W. Oller, 1^st District Commissioner

                                                            Kermit Rush, 2^nd District Commissioner

                                                            Terry L. Kueser, 3^rd District Commissioner

                                   

                                                                                                           

OPENING BUSINESS:

 

Chairman Oller called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the Agenda.   Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the Minutes of September 24, 2012.  Commissioner Kueser seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

No one was present for the Public Forum.

 

APPOINTMENTS: 

 

Teresa Shute, Noxious Weed-Landfill Supervisor, reported the dozier had been shutting off for no apparent reason.  Dale Houston has looked at it and thinks it might be the transmission.  He asked that they get a new filter for the transmission thinking that it might be clogged.  After the filter has been put in, Dale will look at it again and see what might need to be done.  As yet, Mrs. Shute has not heard back from Kirkham, Michael & Associates on the landfill update.

 

The Commissioners recessed at 9:30 a.m. to tour county bridges with Road & Bridge Supervisor, Rick Nondorf.  They returned at 11:15 a.m. and Chairman Oller called the meeting back to order.

 

At the request of the Commissioners, Roderic Rees, EMS Director and Gaye Woods, Assistant, met with the Commissioner to review the job position of Billing Clerk.  It had come to their attention that the person hired for that position was now taking EMT classes and could be used during the regular business hours to help staff an ambulance.  Since the billing clerk position was created at the request of the previous director, the Commissioners clarified the position as an 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. office clerk position and that person would not go on any ambulance run during that time period.  After hours and the weekend, it would be her decision if she took ambulance runs.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

 

There were no old business items.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the September payroll in the amount of $176,182.88.  Commissioner Kueser seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0. 

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the September accounts payable for $185,370.8 and prewritten warrants for $1,600.66 for a total of $186,971.44.  Commissioner Kueser seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

After reviewing the KCAMP annual renewal information, Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the renewal information for submission.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Oller moved to approve Abatement 114 in the amount of $36.48.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the amount not covered by the insurance company for flu shots for county employees.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

ADJOURNMENT:

 

Chairman Oller adjourned the meeting at 12:05 p.m.
