ELLSWORTH COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING

                                                                                 

MINUTES

 

September 10, 2012

 

The Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners convened this 10^th day of September at the Ellsworth County Courthouse. 

 

                                                            Members Present:

                                                            Albert W. Oller, 1^st District Commissioner

                                                            Kermit Rush, 2^nd District Commissioner

                                                            Terry L. Kueser, 3^rd District Commissioner

                                   

                                                                                                           

OPENING BUSINESS:

 

Chairman Oller called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the Agenda.   Commissioner Kueser seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the Minutes of September 4, 2012 with corrections.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

No one was present for the Public Forum.

 

APPOINTMENTS:

 

Teresa Shute, Noxious Weed-Landfill Supervisor, and Wayne Scritchfield, representing Kirkham, Michael & Associates, discussed permit requirements for the landfill.  Mr. Scritchfield explained that they would have to complete a Plot Plan which would include a site map and survey at a cost of $7,500.  The Commissioners discussed the fact that they thought a site map had already been drawn according to the billing in 2011.  No decision was forthcoming until Mr. Scritchfield could take the information given to him back to the office for confirmation.  Mrs. Shute reported there had been a roof leak and she was going to check with Reliant Roofing.  Also, she felt that a pipe in the roof should be removed and that area of the roof patched.

 

Rod Rees, EMS Director, presented the financial report for August showing they had receipts of $200,391.64 so far this year.  He presented a pay scale from Russell County and asked the Commissioners to raise two employees sixty-five cents per hour which he felt was commensurate with the skills of the individuals.  The Commissioners explained that they had not planned to give any raises until the first of the year, but would discuss the matter.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

 

They burn ban was not lifted and is still in effect.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

Commissioners Rush moved to approve Abatement 113 in the amount of $285.54.  Commissioner Kueser seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

ADJOURNMENT:

 

Commissioner Oller adjourned the meeting at 11:30 a.m.
