ELLSWORTH COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING

                                                                                 

MINUTES

 

JANUARY 3, 2012

 

The Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners convened this 3^rd day of January 2012 at the Ellsworth County Courthouse. 

 

                                                            Members Present:

                                                            Albert W. Oller, 1^st District Commissioner

                                                            Kermit Rush, 2^nd District Commissioner

                                                            Terry L. Kueser, 3^rd District Commissioner                

                                                                                                           

OPENING BUSINESS:

 

Chairman Kueser called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the Agenda.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the Minutes of December 27, 2011. Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

2012 ELECTION OF OFFICERS & APPOINTMENTS:

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to elect Albert W. Oller as Chairman  and Kermit Rush as Vice-Chairman of the Ellsworth County Board of Commissioners for 2012.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.  Chairman Oller presided over the rest of the meeting.  Commissioner Rush moved to make the following appointments for 2012:

Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

APPOINTMENTS:

 

Janet Andrews, Ellsworth County Clerk, asked that Shelly Vopat be appointed as Deputy County Clerk.  Commissioner Kueser moved to appoint Shelly Vopat as Ellsworth County Deputy Clerk moving her to 7i on the salary scale.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Jo Funk, Salina-Saline County Health Department brought two documents to be signed for the new Sanitary Code being submitted to KDHE for approval.  Mrs. Funk also reported that she is working to submit some information to the state on the LEPP program as she has gotten some information that it might be considered for funding in 2013.

 

Sheriff Tracy Ploutz, reported he had purchased the 4-wheel drive truck.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

 

There were no old business items.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the 2012 Chamber of Commerce Dues in the amount of $200.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the After Prom funding request for all three schools in the county for the same amount as last year, $100.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0. 

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the December payroll in the amount of $212,811.99. Commissioner Kueser seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve to approve the December accounts payable for $299,555.97 and prewritten warrants for $73,494.20 for a total of $373,050.17.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve 2011 Abatements 72,74 & 75 in the amount of $222.10 and Added tax #73 for $46.14.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion.  Motion

carried 3-0.    

 

ADJOURNMENT:

 

Chairman Oller adjourned the meeting at 11:30 a.m.
