ELLSWORTH COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING

                                                                                 

MINUTES

 

NOVEMBER 7, 2011

 

The Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners convened this 7^th day of November 2011 at the Ellsworth County Courthouse. 

 

                                                            Members Present:

                                                            Albert W. Oller, 1^st District Commissioner

                                                            Kermit Rush, 2^nd District Commissioner

                                                            Terry L. Kueser, 3^rd District Commissioner                

                                                                                                           

OPENING BUSINESS:

 

Chairman Kueser called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the Agenda as printed.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the Minutes of October 31, 2011 with a correction.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Billy Kryger, Pastor of the Smoky Hill Baptist Church in Ellsworth, was in attendance but did not wish to address the Commissioners.

 

APPOINTMENTS:

 

Teresa Shute, Noxious Weed-Landfill Supervisor, presented three bids on the 2840 John Deer Tractor.  The three bids were:  $5,500, $5,555.55 and $7,310.  Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the bid of $7,310 from Ryan Isaacson.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.  Mrs. Shute reported she was painting her office and would be purchasing a new desk and ceiling fan.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

Commissioner Rush moved to reappoint Shawn McGowan as a Special Deputy Coroner for Ellsworth County for 2012.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.  A letter stating our request for reappointment will be sent to the Barton County Administrator.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to reappoint Keith Adams to the North Central-Flint Hills Area Agency On Aging, Inc. board of directors.  Mr. Adams's term will be from January 1, 2012 through December 31, 2012.  Commissioner Kueser seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

The Commissioner approved the payment to Orazem & Scalora Engineering to be run through the normal accounts payment process.

 

The KCAMP Member Contribution Credit & Rate Stabilization Program proposal was discussed.  The issue was tabled until more information is available.

 

ADJOURNMENT:

 

Since there will be no Commission Meeting next week due to the Annual KAC Meeting, Chairman Kueser adjourned the meeting until November 21, 2011.
