ELLSWORTH COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING

                                                                                 

MINUTES

 

SEPTEMBER 19, 2011

 

The Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners convened this 19^th day of September 2011 at the Ellsworth County Courthouse. 

 

                                                            Members Present:

                                                            Albert W. Oller, 1^st District Commissioner

                                                            Kermit Rush, 2^nd District Commissioner

                                                            Terry L. Kueser, 3^rd District Commissioner                

                                                                                                           

OPENING BUSINESS:

 

Chairman Kueser called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the Agenda as amended.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the Minutes of September 12, 2011.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

No one was present for Public Forum.

 

APPOINTMENTS: 

 

Bob Kepka, Terry Hoss, Mark Breford and Gary Frevert discussed the burn permit process, no decision was made as they will discuss it further.

 

A group of citizens talked to commissioners about Sherman Township roads.  Wind Capital is using the roads to construct a Wind Farm, use of the road was stopped by a member of the Township board,  Commissioners felt the group should seek counsel elsewhere.

 

Rob Rees, Ems Director, asked permission to write off uncollected accounts in the amount of $5759.80 dollars. Kermit Rush made a motion to write off the uncollected accounts, Al Oller seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0.  Rob also asked permission to apply for a grant from FEMA for an Emergency Response trailer. The grant will pay 95% of the cost of the trailer.   We will wait and see if we receive the grant.

 

Keith Haberer, Russell County Emergency Preparedness Director, came to pick up a contract to hire him as Ellsworth County Preparedness Director on a part time basis.  Al Oller made a motion to enter into an agreement with Russell County to share the services of their Emergency Management Director, Keith Haberer, effective October 1, 2011 through May 31, 2012. Commission Kueser seconded the motion, motion carried. 3-0.

 

Rick Nondorf, Road and Bridge Supervisor, presented a bid from Kirkham Michael for bridge inspection for 2012.  Terry Kueser made motion to accept the bid, Commissioner Rush seconded the motion, motion carried, 3-0.

 

Commissioner Kueser adjoured the meeting at 11:30 a.m. seconded the motion by Kermit Rush
