ELLSWORTH COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING

                                                                                 

MINUTES

 

OCTOBER 10, 2011

 

The Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners convened this 10^th day of October 2011 at the Ellsworth County Courthouse. 

 

                                                            Members Present:

                                                            Albert W. Oller, 1^st District Commissioner

                                                            Kermit Rush, 2^nd District Commissioner

                                                            Terry L. Kueser, 3^rd District Commissioner                

                                                                                                           

OPENING BUSINESS:

 

Chairman Kueser called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the Agenda as printed.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the Minutes of October 3, 2011.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

APPOINTMENTS:

 

Carolee Miner, Shelia  Nelson-Stout and Pat Wallerius, representing OCCK, Inc. met with the Commissioners to give them an update.  Ms. Miner, CEO of OCCK, announced her retirement and reported that Mrs. Stout had been named the new CEO.  Also, she reported that between state and federal legislation, they would be losing $635,000 in funding rather than the $400,000 that had been estimated at budget time.  New legislation that contains managed care and how it will affect their organization and clientele was discussed.  Ms. Miner was congratulated on her retirement and effective leadership of the organization.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

 

The Commissioners discussed with Joe Shepack, County Attorney, the possibility of the county issuing burn permits and how the individual fire departments could bill for their services if a fire got out of control.  Mr. Shepack will research some of the ideas put forth and will get back to them.

 

Commissioner Oller moved to accept the contract with Orazem & Scalora Engineering for the design and bid process for updating the electrical system at the jail.  Commissioner Rush seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

NEW BUSINESS:

 

There were no new business items.

 

ADJOURNMENT:

 

Chairman Kueser adjourned the meeting at 10:45 a.m.
