ELLSWORTH COUNTY COMMISSIONER MEETING

                                                                                 

MINUTES

 

JUNE 27, 2011

 

The Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners convened this 27^th day of June 2011 at the Ellsworth County Courthouse. 

 

                                                            Members Present:

                                                            Albert W. Oller, 1^st District Commissioner

                                                            Kermit Rush, 2^nd District Commissioner

                                                            Terry L. Kueser, 3^rd District Commissioner

                                                           

                                                                                                                       

OPENING BUSINESS:

 

Chairman Kueser called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the Agenda as printed.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the Minutes of June 20,  2011.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

 

APPOINTMENTS:

 

Janice Sneath, Register of Deeds, presented her budget for 2012 of $80,540, an increase of 3.6%.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to go into executive session to discuss non-elected personnel from 9:07 a.m. until 9:25 a.m.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.  Roderic Rees was included in the executive session.  The Commissioners returned to open session at 9:25 a.m.  Upon the acceptance of the job position offered to Roderic Rees, Commissioner Kueser moved hired Roderic Rees as EMS Director, effective July 5, 2011 on salary range 2,e.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Lonnie Hayden, Phyllis Dolezal and Janice Essick, representing the Ellsworth County Historical Society, presented their 2012 budget request of $35,000, an increase of $5,000.  They would like to build a research center on the grounds at Ellsworth and some of the increase would go for that.  Presently, the research is housed on the second floor of the Hodgson House and is not accessible for handicap and older citizens. 

 

Teresa Shute, Noxious Weed-Landfill Supervisor, reported they had found a scale at the Health Department and were able to weight e-waste such as TVs, microwaves, printer and etc. and now have a base on which to charge for e-waste collected to send to Rice County.  Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the Interlocal Agreement with Rice County for the collection of e-waste.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

NEW BUSINESS:

 

There were no new business items.

 

ADJOURNMENT:
