ELLSWORTH COUNTY COMMISSIONER SPECIAL MEETING

                                                                                 

MINUTES

 

JUNE 15, 2011

 

The Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners convened this 15^th day of June 2011 in a special meeting  at the Ellsworth County Courthouse  to meet the General Contractor for the Post Rock Windfarm.

                                                            Albert W. Oller, 1^st District Commissioner

                                                            Kermit Rush, 2^nd District Commissioner

                                                            Terry L. Kueser, 3^rd District Commissioner

 

Also in attendance:

G. R. Robertson, S. Fitzgerald, Judy Voeltz, Steve Soukup, Bill Thornton, Susan Thornton, Gale Soukup, Tony Svaty, Gary L. Urbanek, Olen Svoboda, Andrew Svoboda, Rick Nondorf, Jana Doubrave, Terry Boeken, Kenton Janzen and Scott Soukup.

 

Curt Bjurlin, Wind Capital Group, explained the three phases of the wind farm project as the development, construction and operation.  As the developer, Mr. Bjurlin reported that he would soon be handling the project over to the construction phase and introduced Ros Vrba as the construction engineer and Jacob Valentine as the assistant.  Mr. Vrba, with RMT based out of Wisconsin, explained that he would be working with two electrical engineer and they would be subcontracting the work.   Presently, he plans on giving bi-weekly updates to the Commissioners and if they or the Road Supervisor has any questions or problems, he would be the contact.

 

Chairman Kueser addressed the citizens in attendance explaining that the Commissioner would be having a public meeting with the wind farm on either June 28-29 to discuss the problems they feel are associated with the transmission line.  When they can nail down the date and time, notification will be sent to individual (Mrs. Thornton will supply a list) as well as publicize it in the local media.  Mr. Bjurlin and Mr. Vrba answered as many questions as possible posed by the group in attendance.

 

With no other business to conduct, Chairman Kueser adjourned the meeting at 2:45 p.m.
