ELLSWORTH COUNTY COMMISSIONER MEETING

 

MINUTES

 

February 7, 2011

 

The Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners convened this 7^th day of February 2011 at the Ellsworth County Courthouse. 

 

                                                            Members Present:

                                                            Albert W. Oller, 1^st District Commissioner

                                                            Kermit Rush, 2^nd District Commissioner

                                                            Terry L. Kueser, 3^rd District Commissioner

                                                           

                                                                                                                       

OPENING BUSINESS:

 

Chairman Kueser called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the Agenda as printed. Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the Minutes of January 31, 2011.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

No one was present for the public forum.

 

APPOINTMENTS:

 

 

Sylvia McNeal, representing the Ellsworth County Council of Unit Affairs, requested assistance again this year with the Ellsworth County Open Class Fair.  The open class portion of the fair has continued to grow even though there are fewer FCU members to support the fair.  Commissioner Kueser moved to give $600 to the Ellsworth County Council of Unit Affairs for 2011.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Gaye Woods, Assistant EMS Director, asked the Commissioners to appoint Dr. Slomka as Medical Director as Dr. Kepka is retiring.  Dr. Slomka has agreed to serve in that capacity with Shawn McGowan, PA continuing as liaison. Commissioner Kueser moved to appoint Dr. Jerzy Slomka as EMS Medical Director.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.  Mrs. Woods reported the Board of EMS conducted an inspection and they had a no deficiencies.  The Commissioners congratulated them on their perfect inspection and the service they provide to the County.

 

Sheriff Tracy Ploutz visited with the Commissioners about the tragic car accident that claim a young man's life this past weekend.  Although the accident happened on a township road, the Sheriff questioned signage on some of those roads.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve Resolution 2011R03, A Resolution Amending Ellsworth County Resolution 04-R07B Wherein Per Diem County Jail Prisoner Costs Are Recouped.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the January accounts payable for $542,369.98 and pre-written warrants for $12,875.00 for a total of $555,244.98.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

The handbook change was reviewed up tabled until the Commissioners could discuss it with the County Attorney.

 

ADJOURNMENT:

 

Chairman Kueser adjourned the meeting at 11:02 a.m.
