ELLSWORTH COUNTY COMMISSIONER MEETING

 

MINUTES

 

December 27, 2010

 

The Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners convened this 27^th day of December 2010 at the Ellsworth County Courthouse. 

 

                                                            Members Present:

                                                            Albert W. Oller, 1^st District Commissioner

                                                            Kermit Rush, 2^nd District Commissioner

                                                            Terry L. Kueser, 3^rd District Commissioner

                                                           

                                                                                                                       

OPENING BUSINESS:

 

Chairman Rush called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the Agenda with additions. Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the Minutes of December 20, 2010.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

No one was present for the public forum.

 

APPOINTMENTS:

 

Rick Nondorf, Road & Bridge Supervisor, updated the Commissioners on several of their on-going projects.  They have hauled approximately 10,000 lbs of millings and are hauling rock at the present time.

 

Teresa Shute, Noxious Weed-Landfill Director, reported that Kirkham Michael & Associates have submitted the Facility Operation Plan to the state.  It should be the final paper work needed to issue the permit for the new landfill pits.  The tractor is leaking oil again and the Commissioners suggested she take it to Kan Equip for repair.

 

Michelle Maze, EMS Director, was present for the opening of the bids on the 1994 Ford Crown Victoria and the 1996 Ambulance.  The bids for the car were $100, $465 and $505.  The bid on the ambulance was $600.  Commissioner Kueser moved to accept the bid of $505 on the 1994 Crown Victoria.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.  The Commissioners refused the bid on the ambulance and asked Mrs. Maze to inquire about listing it on Purple Wave, an internet website that sells government property.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

 

There were no old business items.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve a cereal malt beverage license for D&S Convenience Shop.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve a cereal malt beverage license for Martin Oil Company, Inc.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve 2010 abatements in the amount of $125.68 and Refunding Warrants in the amount of $227.52.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

ADJOURNMENT:

 

Chairman Rush adjourned the meeting at 11:30 a.m.
