ELLSWORTH COUNTY COMMISSIONER MEETING

 

MINUTES

 

JULY 19, 2010

 

The Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners convened this 19^th day of July 2010 at the Ellsworth County Courthouse. 

 

                                                            Members Present:

                                                            Albert W. Oller, 1^st District Commissioner

                                                            Terry L. Kueser, 3^rd District Commissioner

                                                           

                                                                                                                       

OPENING BUSINESS:

 

Vice-Chairman Kueser called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the Agenda as printed. Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 2-0.

 

Commissioner Oller moved to approve the Minutes of July 12, 2010.  Commissioner Kueser seconded the motion.  Motion carried 2-0.

 

No one was present for the Public Forum.

 

APPOINTMENTS:

 

Tracy Ploutz, Sheriff, presented a letter from Becky Crowder indicating that the job description for a full-time Investigator/Road Deputy would fall in the same range as Lieutenant which is range 5.  The Commissioners authorize the salary of $13.99 for the proposed hiring of a full-time Investigator/Road Deputy.  Commissioner Kueser moved to go into executive session to discuss non-elected personnel from 9:15 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 2-0.  The Commissioners returned to open session at 9:30 a.m. and no action was taken.

 

Michelle Maze, EMS Director, reported that Shauna Haase had resigned her position to take a position in Hutchinson and she will be advertising the open position.  Unit 110 is in the shop for repairs as the antifreeze got mixed with the oil again.  It seems to be a problem with the new ambulances.  However, it might still be under warranty. Upon the request of the auditors, the Commissioners asked that a monthly financial report be prepared and given to them on a regular basis.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

There were no old business items.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

Upon the recommendation of the County Clerk, Commissioner Kueser moved to approve a one year service and maintenance agreement on the iSeries mainframe computer in the amount of $5,087.41.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 2-0.

 

ADJOURNEMENT:

 

Vice-Chairman Kueser adjourned the meeting at 10:45 a.m.
