ELLSWORTH COUNTY COMMISSIONER MEETING

 

MINUTES

 

May 3, 2010

 

The Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners convened this 3^rd day of May 2010 at the Ellsworth County Courthouse. 

 

                                                            Members Present:

                                                            Albert W. Oller, 1^st District Commissioner

                                                            Kermit Rush, 2^nd District Commissioner

                                                            Terry L. Kueser, 3^rd District Commissioner

                                                           

                                                                                                                       

OPENING BUSINESS:

 

Chairman Rush called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

 

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the Agenda as printed. Commissioner Kueser seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the Minutes of April 26, 2010.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

No one was present for the Public Forum.

 

 

APPOINTMENTS:

 

Janet Andrews, County Clerk, presented her budget requests for 2011.  The County Clerk's request was for $98,973 and increase of $587 or .06%.  The Election budget was $31,480 a decrease of $20,050 due to the fact that only a spring election is held.  Also, the Clerk presented a draft Commissioner budget for their review.

 

Upon the request of Michelle Maze, EMS Director, Commissioner Kueser moved to go into executive session to discuss non-elected personnel from 10:03 a.m. until 10:20 a.m.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.  Gaye Woods was included in the executive session.  The Commissioners returned to open session at 10:20 a.m. and no action was taken.  Mrs. Maze reported they had received a KEMSA grant to purchase two Protraq monitors.  This will phase out all the old monitors.

 

Jo Funk, Sanitarian with the Salina-Saline Health Department, asked the Commissioner to sign a proclamation declaring May as Safe Drinking Water Month.  During the month of May there are discounts for testing water systems.  County residents may call the Salina-Saline Health Department to schedule a water test.  Commissioner Kueser moved to proclaim May As Safe Drinking Water Month.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

 

There were no old business items.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the April payroll in the amount of $176,941.17.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

Commissioner Kueser moved to approve the April accounts payable in the amount of $203,687.32 and the prewritten warrants in the amount of $30,608.18 for a total of $234,295.50.  Commissioner Oller seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

 

ADJOURNMENT:

 

Chairman Rush adjourned the meeting at 11:00 a.m.
